Our technology covers a broad spectrum of mixing applications; suspending, and heat transfer, and high shear mixers for difficult dry ingredient incorporation and dispersion, and the mixing of immiscible liquid phases to produce emulsion preparations.

Our sanitary designs meet the rigorous hygienic and safety standards for GMP facilities. Scott Mixers Batch and Inline mixers and milling equipment are constructed of FDA-approved materials and many are 3-A certified and comply with strict cGMP requirements.

    • Bottom Mount Mixers

Bottom mounted mixers are often used when headroom restrictions prevent a top-mounted installation and/or when the mix head needs to be located close to the bottom of the vessel for pre-mix or small batch processing. Scott Mixers offers the rugged design, model BM mixer that is suitable for installation in the most demanding washdown environments.

Coupled with the Scott Mixers Mixing head technology, the mixers are used to rapidly disperse, dissolve, de-agglomerate, and emulsify ingredients in a wide range of applications and are often installed in tandem with anchor-scraper mixers and turbine agitators when high viscosity and/or hot processing is required. Available in 8 model sizes, ranging from 1HP to 200HP, the BM model mixer easily accommodates the smallest to largest mixing challenge.

      Standard features include:

All stainless steel and fully sealed design stand up to the rigors of a washdown environment. Stainless steel, washdown motors are standard on models up to 20HP
Sanitary construction for use in hygienic applications, including CIP capability
Scott Mixers mixing head with interchangeable shearing elements
      Double mechanical seal design
      No submerged bearings or bushings
Standard #4, 32 Ra or better surface finish for product contact surfaces. Other surface finishes available to meet your application needs

    • Hydraulic Ram Mixers

Scott Mixers Full Scale Hydraulic Ram (HR) Mixers are designed and built for Pilot to Full-scale production. Incorporating the Scott Mixer head with an adjustable mixer height allows for processing of various batch sizes and viscosities. In addition, the Scott Mixer head is designed to provide high shear with effective pumping action, ensuring rapid dispersion and emulsification of ingredients.

Full Scale Hydraulic Mixers can be fitted with additional mixing technology for more efficient processing of thick products.

A double-acting or dual shaft mixer utilizes a high shear hydraulic viscous mixer in conjunction with a sweep, scrape surface, or turbine agitator.
A triple-acting or triple shaft mixer consists of a sweep or scrape surface agitator, a pitch blade turbine, and a high shear viscous ram mixer.

    • High Shear pump / High Shear Mill /

Scott Mixers offers a range of inline mixers that will meet your most demanding high shear processing needs:

Model HSP - high shear pump

The high capacity HSP model is ideal for inline blending, product smoothing, and de-agglomerating poorly dispersed powders. Wet milling of friable solids in suspension is even possible. The self-pumping design of the rotor and stator elements eliminates the need for a separate process pump.

Model HSM - high shear mill

The HSM model mixer invests a high level of energy into the fluid for wet milling applications and for the production of emulsions. Interchangeable rotors and stators combined with variable speed control support optimization of your process.

    • Vacu-Blend Systems

How Does Powder Induction Vacuum Blending Work?
The introduction of powders into a fluid process is one of the most challenging mixing duties you will come across. Incorporating powders directly into a liquid stream with a powder induction vacuum blending system, will speed up your process, improve your product quality, while at the same time improving operator safety.

What is a Powder Vacuum Blending System?
The Scott Mixers Vacu-Blend powder vacuum blending system generates strong vacuum rates, pulling in powders and dispersing them lump-free into the liquid stream. Powders can be conveyed from a variety of sources; wanding from small bags or drums, manual bag addition directly to the mixer hopper, or integrated with bulk bag unloading systems.

The Vacu-Blend sanitary powder induction system will reduce batch times by up to 90% while improving the consistency and quality of the product.
